Hearth Architects, a well-known Japanese architecture firm, was set up in 2016 by architect Yoshitaka Hisato. He is good at coordinating the relationship between architecture, site and nature, and cleverly integrating the concept of "natural environment" into the daily household living environment.
According to Yoshitaka Hisi, a "simple space that is close to people and nature and integrates into daily life" can be called a "spiritually rich residence". Therefore, the exterior of Kumiyama house is not too much decoration, but as much as possible to show its dignified posture, interior convenient lines, reasonable layout, space profile relationship are all carefully considered. While ensuring the necessary functions, it removes the superfluous material and creates a kind of "artistic conception of white space", which together constitute the deep scene and quality space of nature. We are often struck by the organic forms that change in nature, such as light and shadow, and by things that increase in flavor as the years pass. Just like every day at some point, occasionally look up at the sky or suddenly want to stay in a certain place. Therefore, how to construct such a space in line with People's Daily psychological changes became the core of the design of the project. Taking architecture as the carrier, architects hope to create rich changes that can be felt by the five senses in ordinary daily life, and create a matching charming residence.
This single family house on a flat lot has excellent views due to its geographical advantage. There is not much shielding around, and during the day, light can easily and freely pass through the Windows, illuminating the entire interior room. A curved spiral staircase connects the first and second floors of the house, enriching the visual hierarchy of the space in addition to the function of the path.
Yoshitaka Kume is good at reconstructing space with modern design concept, so as to generate positive interaction between environment and occupants. He believes that architectural design is an act that needs to consider boundaries, and in this process, "the connection between Spaces and the depth of the realm" is the focus of thinking. Through the study of Japanese traditional design, it is found that the boundary between the interior and the exterior of the space is often filled with a variety of semi-outdoor Spaces, and the grid or paper door and other styles are used as partitions to create connections and different depths of space.
